Russia leads international support for the strength of Venezuelan democracy

The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, congratulated his counterpart Nicolás Maduro on his re-election as president of Venezuela, being a traditional ally of Moscow, after the elections of last July 28.
“Relations between Russia and Venezuela constitute a strategic partnership. I am confident that his work at the head of the State will continue to contribute to its progressive development in all areas,” Putin said in a telegram sent to the re-elected Venezuelan president, according to a Kremlin statement.
In this context, Russia welcomed the successful expression of the will of the Venezuelan People and “confirms its fundamental commitment to further strengthening relations between the two countries in a spirit of strategic partnership and close and continuous coordination on international and regional platforms, in accordance with the electoral process of 2024.”
In order to support the legitimate Venezuelan government, Putin invited the re-elected president to the BRICS summit , through a letter he said: “I am sure that his personal participation will enrich the next discussion, help to identify promising areas of multilateral cooperation for the benefit of the world majority and, without a doubt, will contribute to a greater progressive development of Russian-Venezuelan relations”, highlights the invitation of the head of state Russian. Relationship that transcends

The importance of Venezuela's stability in the region transcends since it has more than 300 billion barrels of crude oil, which places it in first place in world reserves.
Venezuela has the fourth largest natural gas reserve in the world, and has huge reserves of strategic minerals such as gold, coltan, rare minerals and thorium, among other resources.
Russia-Venezuela relationship since the arrival of President Maduro to power
Cooperation between the two nations is strategic, based on a solid foundation of coincidental positions on the fundamental issues of the emerging polycentric world order, on the mutual desire to strengthen commercial, economic and cultural ties, and on a broad legal system for the consolidation of the multipolar world.
Venezuela and Russia have signed more than 342 instruments in the last 20 years, in the commercial, technical-military, energy, agricultural, food, transportation, scientific, technological and public health areas, all thanks to the vision of Commander Hugo Chávez, an exceptional head of state, patriot and a true friend of Russia, and to President Nicolás Maduro Moros, who has followed and enhanced his legacy.
Ties between Presidents Putin and Maduro
During a visit by President Maduro in 2019 to the Kremlin, the Russian leader received from the hands of his counterpart, the replica of the sabre of the liberator Simon Bolivar, for defending the truth and dignity of Venezuela in the face of the aggressions of the American empire.
