Russia is preparing for the World Youth Festival to be held in March

The Russian Federation is preparing for the World Youth Festival, which will be held in Sirius, in Sochi, from March 1 to 7, 2024, the Russia Today website reported.

It specifies that from March 10 to 17, a regional program will be developed in which participants will visit 30 Russian cities.

In addition, the Organizing Committee of the event announced that a calendar of activities has already been drawn up, both for participants and for citizens.

He also reported that for the convenience of the guests, a new pedestrian passage will be opened near the Educational Center, which will connect the Olympic Avenue and the maritime area, and a viewpoint was built.

In the Sirius Federal Territory Park, the bridges are decorated in yellow, green and pink, the colors of the symbols of the event.

In Sochi, the bridge located at the intersection of North and Constitution streets of the USSR is illuminated with the colors of the Russian tricolor flag, and a figure of the friendly Cheburashka, the Festival's mascot, has been installed in Frunze Park.

Local authorities say that the festival will be the biggest event for young people in 2024 in Russia, and they hope that it will become “a platform for building new international ties”.

In the opinion of the organizers, 20,000 outstanding young people will participate in the important event in the sectors of education, science, international cooperation, culture, volunteering and charity, sports, business, and the media, of whom 10,000 will be foreigners.

For the first time in the history of the festival movement, teenagers aged 14 to 17 will be given the opportunity to participate in the event: 500 from Russia and 500 from the rest of the world.
