Russia condemns indiscriminate Israeli attacks on cities in Lebanon

The Russian Federation, this Monday, condemned indiscriminate Israeli attacks against Lebanese cities, Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Bogdanov said, Sputnik said.

“The Russian side strongly condemned the indiscriminate attacks against Lebanese cities and towns, which have killed thousands of civilians, including medical rescue workers and journalists,” says a text read by Bogdanov.

The Kremlin has expressed deep concern about “the continuing threat of a further expansion of the conflict”.

In this context, they have stressed the need to provide additional humanitarian aid to the country and ensure the safety of Russian citizens in the area. “Moscow's consistent position in support of the unity, territorial integrity and sovereignty of the Lebanese Republic was confirmed,” the statement said.

Since last October, the Israel Defense Forces have focused their operations on Lebanon, holding occasional combat against the Shiite Hezbollah militia.

The Zionist State, exchanging gunfire with Houthi rebels in Yemen, carries out sporadic attacks on Syria and has been immersed for more than a year in a war against the Palestinian movement Hamas, which governs the Gaza Strip.
