The Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation reported on the liberation of the crucial city of Sudzha, in the province of Kursk. According to information detailed by Telesur, this is the largest location that the Armed Forces of Ukraine managed to take in August 2024 during an offensive.

Sudzha has significant strategic relevance. It was used as the main logistics hub through which Kiev supplied its units in adjacent localities, Russian media reported.

The entity reported that the Sever military groups (north) have liberated the areas of Melovoy and Podol. In the province of Kursk, Ukrainian units of various assault and territorial defense brigades, among others, were neutralized, while Russian forces resisted a counterattack by the adversary.

The Russian ministry also indicated that tactical and operational aviation and artillery attacked Ukrainian soldiers, in addition to the destruction of opposing military equipment in various areas in the border province of Sumy.
