Rubén Limardo shines at the Budapest Grand Prix

The Venezuelan Olympic medalist Rubén Limardo once again stood out on the international scene when he placed seventh in the prestigious Grand Prix in Budapest, Hungary, this result reaffirms him as one of the best fencers in the men's sword category in the world.
Limardo, as the occupant of the twelfth place in the world ranking, entered directly the table of 64, where he began his journey by facing the Russian Aleksey Udovichen, whom he beat in an exciting fight with a score adjusted from 11 to 10 touches.
In the next round, Limardo showed his experience and skill by beating Frenchman Alexandre Bardenet with a score of 15 to 12. Later, he advanced to the table of 16, where he defeated the Swiss Theo Brochard in another exciting duel that ended 14-13 in favor of the Venezuelan.
In the round of 16, the two-time world sword runner-up faced South Korean Segeon Ma, who was a team bronze medalist at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games. Despite the intense battle, Limardo yielded with a final score of 11 to 8, thus ending his participation in the Grand Prix.
This tournament served as a key preparation for Rubén Limardo's next challenges , who is now focusing on the World Cup in Morocco, which will take place from March 23 to 27. With the talent and dedication that characterizes him, Limardo carries the name of Venezuela high on the international sports scene.
