Rodríguez: State electoral commissions will be activated immediately to elect Justices of the Peace

This Wednesday, November 20, the president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, explained that once the main mission of the National Electoral Commission for the elections of Justices of the Peace has been installed, “is to immediately activate state electoral commissions, one for each of the 23 states.”
“The Electoral Commissions of each Community Circuit are also immediately activated. This means that once the work teams of the communes have been brought together, the commission will be activated wherever there are communes,” he explained.
He specified that the National Electoral Commission for the elections of the Justices of the Peace will be composed of Ángel Prado, Minister of the Popular Power of Communes and Social Movements; the Minister of the Popular Power of Education, Héctor Rodríguez; the magistrate Tania De' Amelio; the head of the Government of Caracas (GDC), Nahum Fernández; the vice-president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Carlos Quintero, the first vice-president of the AN, Pedro Infante and by the president of the AN, Jorge Rodríguez.
This was reported during the installation of the National Electoral Commission for the Election of Justices of the Peace, led by the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro.
He pointed out that each commune will be able to elect three justices of the peace, “each commission will indicate the period until when the candidates will nominate, the time of the electoral campaign, which will be until December 13, and the 15th, where the election event will be held; then the commissions will upload the data to the CNE.”
Rodríguez indicated the importance of this process to strengthen justice of peace in the country, to ensure citizen participation, which is key to the success of this initiative. “This election is a fundamental step in consolidating peace and justice in our communities,” he said.
