The Executive Vice President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, during her participation in the International Russian Energy Week Forum, pointed out the fundamental role that sanctioned countries play in the geopolitical reconfiguration.

From Moscow, Rodríguez highlighted the battle that Russia is fighting in building a global economy that does not depend on the West, “in 2040-2050 the main power will be the global South, not the West (...) the global south will be playing a predominant role”.

In this regard, he said that the BRICS “maintain a decisive participation in world economic growth (...) today they are a fundamental engine in the economy. In other words, today we sanctioned countries are undergoing a geopolitical reconfiguration to provide the basis for a new economic balance in the world.”

He also specified that in addition to the battle for existence as a nation and as a homeland, sanctioned countries are also fighting for the contribution of international economic balance, and “how by resisting this sanctioning mechanism, which is an economic aggression, just as by resisting we also have an important participation in the development of nations and peaceful development”.
