The president of the National Assembly (AN), Jorge Rodríguez, welcomed the meeting with different political parties in the country to create a proposal for an electoral calendar for the next elections in 2024.

Representatives of 29 political organizations and nine pre-candidates and pre-candidates for the Presidency of the Republic participated in the activity.

“It was an extremely constructive meeting, extremely clear in terms of principles and I think it will lead us to develop clear elements to present to the People and the National Electoral Council (CNE),” he said during a press conference this Monday, February 5.

In addition, he stressed that this proposal includes meetings that will be held with various sectors of the country with the objective that “we all appeal for peaceful electoral development, as is customary in Venezuela, without interference of any kind with absolute protection of our sovereignty and independence with respect to the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and the electoral referee that is the CNE,” he emphasized.

He described the meeting as fruitful while informing that next Friday there will be a meeting with other sectors of the country to prepare a working document to be presented to the CNE as part of the proposals that will be collected regarding the electoral calendar.
