Rodríguez: Amorim came on behalf of Sullivan to harm the electoral process in Venezuela

The president of the National Assembly (LAN) and Venezuelan delegate to the Peace Dialogues, Jorge Rodríguez, pointed out that the head of the Special Advisory to the Presidency of Brazil, Celso Amorim, came on behalf of the American Jake Sullivan, US National Security Advisor, to seek to harm the normal course of the presidential election in Venezuela.

In a statement, Rodríguez indicated that he met with Amorim in which he explained the terrorist acts perpetrated by the right that left 27 people murdered 48 hours after the elections.

“To our complaint, Amorim's response was always a long and uncomfortable silence,” says part of the statement.

In this regard, he stresses that this “silence that turned to verbiage” the numerous times he met in Venezuela with those who were planning these acts against our right to live in peace. Here appeared another Amorim, warm, empathetic, understanding, fatherly, with the heralds of death”.

Rodríguez stressed that the Brazilian official's intentions were not to contribute to peace in Venezuela, but to generate chaos. Faced with these actions, the parliamentary authority will request before the plenary of the National Assembly that Amorim be declared a persona non grata.
