Officials from the Government of Portuguesa are carrying out The Festival of Light, a plan aimed at recovering public lighting in cities and parishes in the state's 14 municipalities. After the activation in 2023 of more than 60,000 points in the lighting network, La Fiesta de La Luz resumed this new year in Portuguesa, starting with two residential areas in the Araure municipality.

Portuguesa's first fighter, María Gabriela Gil de Cedeño, reported that the work is being carried out in conjunction with the National Electric Corporation (CORPOELEC) to modernize the lighting system with high-efficiency and long-lasting units.

Through a press release from the government, he indicated that in Villas del Pilar alone, more than 500 LED luminaires will be installed to recover lighting in the entire urban area and thus offer safer streets and avenues to the thousands of families that live there.

At the close of 2023, Governor Primitivo Cedeño announced that The Festival of Light would continue to illuminate Portuguesa in 2024, as part of the plans being carried out in the entity to improve services and with them the quality of life.
