The demand for buying and renting real estate in the capital recovered after the earthquakes of June, driven by loans of up to 100,000 dollars granted by the Bolivarian Government to support affected families, said the president of the Metropolitan Real Estate Chamber of Caracas, Fernando Di Geronimo.

The representative of the association explained that these credits, together with the New Housing Development Act and the Real Estate Rental Act, have boosted the demand for housing solutions in the country.

“The State has supported with credit. That is to promote the search for these properties, both for rent and for purchase,” said Di Geronimo, in statements replicated by the Venezuelan News Agency (AVN)

Regarding the areas that suffered structural damage, Di Geronimo stressed that La Guaira needs territorial planning for its reconstruction.

“It requires an urban planning plan where the new houses that are going to be built are introduced,” said Di Geronimo regarding ensuring organized development of the region after the emergency.

He stressed that the current context, characterized by the arrival of diplomats and workers and the return of Venezuelans to the country, constitutes the ideal scenario for reactivating real estate financing.

“I think it's the right time for mortgage credit to explode again,” he said.
