Ranger Suárez reached 7 wins in the current season in the major leagues, with the Philadelphia Phillies and breaks a record with the 108-year-old franchise.

The left-hander worked 7 innings at Loan Depot Park, allowing just two hits to become the first Phillies starter to start the season with a 1.50 or better ERA in eight starts since right-handed Hall of Fame Grover Cleveland Alexander began the campaign in the second decade of the last century.

The MLB.com portal highlighted that “only three Phillies starters in the 21st century have had a clean run average of 1.99 or better after their first eight starts of a season: Zack Wheeler this year (EFE of 1.64), Roy Halladay in 2010 (EFE of 1.59) and Brett Myers in 2005 (EFE of 1.63)”.
