Public Ministry served more than 48,000 people during street days

A total of 48,108 people have been treated in the national territory, through the programs The Public Ministry Goes to Your Community and The Public Ministry Responds to Your Complaint in the Parish, said the Attorney General of the Republic, Tarek William Saab, during statements made from the Generalissimo Francisco de Miranda Park, in the Sucre municipality.

The prosecutor detailed the deployment of 105 officials willing to care for people on a new day of The Public Ministry Goes to Your Community, in which complaints are received and legal guidance is offered free of charge.

“I want to emphasize that these guidelines, obviously, are of a legal nature, in a proactive way they are guided what to do, to what instance to go to, in case it is not a criminal offence, but that needs the attention of the Public Ministry,” he said.

On the street day, public servants offered 214 legal guidelines, of which 97 were not criminal in nature, 52 were references to other bodies and 65 referred to problems of neighborhood coexistence. Of the people attending, 31 requested the expediting of the cases and 35 requested legal assistance.

At this meeting, 400 people were attended to; for a total of five thousand complaints that are criminal in nature throughout the national territory. Among them, the most common were disturbances, invasions, misappropriations, scams, injuries and thefts.
