The Minister of Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, and the Governor of the region, Johanna Carrillo, held a meeting with representatives of FedeCámara and Fedeindustria in the state of Sucre, with the objective of presenting value proposals to build a new economic policy for industrial fishing to strengthen the sector.

During the meeting, the advances and critical issues of the fleet were made visible, based on the analysis and scientific evaluation of the data provided by the Industrial Fisheries Renaissance Plan. Based on these indicators, proposals were generated to chart an effective route, aimed at optimizing economic-productive performance.

In addition, the status of the approval process to obtain the comparability finding was addressed to the National Office of Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA), which is awaiting a response. This procedure is key for the export of hydrobiological species such as blue crab, tuna, snapper and grouper, guaranteeing the sector's access to the US market.

With this step, there is evidence of a clear desire for unified work between the National Executive and the fishing business community, combining capacities, technical criteria and shared visions. Both parties reaffirm their commitment to address industry challenges in a concerted manner, formulating viable solutions that energize the productive apparatus, increase international competitiveness and guarantee food security.
