In a statement, the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) expressed its rejection of the decision of the United States to reinstate the Republic of Cuba in its illegitimate and unilateral list of alleged State sponsors of terrorism.

“The PSUV strongly condemns the decision of the United States government to reinstate the Republic of Cuba in its illegitimate and unilateral list of alleged State sponsors of terrorism, an arbitrary, baseless measure that is profoundly contrary to the principles of international law. This act of aggression not only undermines global efforts for peace and cooperation, but it also demonstrates the hegemonic desire to perpetuate policies of imperialist coercion against the sovereign peoples of our region,” the PSUV emphasized in its document.

He also reaffirmed the support and solidarity of the Bolivarian Revolution to the People of Cuba.

Below is the full statement:

The United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) strongly condemns the decision of the United States government to reinstate the Republic of Cuba in its illegitimate and unilateral list of alleged State sponsors of terrorism, an arbitrary, baseless measure and profoundly contrary to the principles of international law. This act of aggression not only undermines global efforts for peace and cooperation, but it also demonstrates the hegemonic desire to perpetuate policies of imperialist coercion against the sovereign peoples of our region.

Cuba, a global symbol of solidarity, social justice and commitment to humanitarian causes, is once again the object of a hostile measure. This baseless action, lacking any ethical or legal basis, constitutes a flagrant violation of fundamental human rights and a direct attack on the sovereignty and dignity of a nation that has demonstrated to the world its firm commitment to peace and self-determination.

From the PSUV, we strongly condemn this arbitrary decision and urge the peoples and governments of the world to denounce these unilateral actions that violate the sovereignty and self-determination of nations. It is crucial that the international community resolutely defends the principles of justice, mutual respect and cooperation that must guide relations between States in the face of any attempt at imperialist domination.

We reaffirm our absolute and unwavering solidarity with the people and government of Cuba, and we reiterate our commitment to building a multipolar world, based on equality, cooperation and respect. Cuba is not alone in its fight for dignity and freedom in the face of imperialist aggressions.
