The Attorney General of the Republic Tarek William Saab reported that this Monday one of those involved in the Yumare massacre executed on May 8, 1986, was convicted.

“This achievement is part of the actions taken by the Public Ministry to vindicate all the martyrs massacred during the Fourth Republic by all the governments of AD and Copei,” the agency said in a statement

In this regard, it became known that Berman José Vega was sentenced to 17 years and 4 months in prison, for the commission of the crime of homicide characterized by premeditation and malevolence, for futile and ignoble reasons, with a degree of corresponding complicity, due to his participation.

This citizen was accused of participating in the extrajudicial murder of Dilia Rojas, Nelson Castellanos, Ronald Morao, José Silva, Simón Romero, Luis Guzmán, Rafael Quevedo, Alfredo Castillo and Pedro Jiménez, who belonged to a nationalist left-wing political current.

That day, DISIP officials, who broke into a meeting of the movement in the La Vaca hamlet in Yaracuy state, arrested the participants, tortured them and then executed them, after which they placed military clothing on the bodies to simulate a confrontation.

Meanwhile, Raúl Yohan Fernández, Oswaldo Alexander Ramos, Eugenio Rafael Creazzola, Freddy Ali Granger, Aníbal José Adán Quero, Alexis Ramón Sánchez, Williams Mauricio Prado and Henry Rafael López Sisco, have arrest warrants for this massacre.
