On March 18, 2017, by presidential decree number 2760 published in the Official Gazette, 6289, the Liqui Liqui was declared the national costume.

“Liqui Liqui has been adopted as a traditional costume of high symbolic value in Venezuelan clothing, because it is a significant part of their cultural manifestations and because it is linked to various social, festive and religious activities,” reads the decree.

This national identity costume is made up of pants and jacket made of denim or linen, which represent the feeling of being a rangler.
