This Thursday, October 29, the President of the Republic, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that Venezuela plans to recover 432 megawatts (MW) of electricity generation through the installation of two turbines at the Manuel Piar Hydroelectric Power Plant, known as Tocoma, as part of the works being carried out together with the company IMPSA.

“We are working and we are going to show results, not only with the recovery in Macagua, but a project that is strategic for the development of Venezuela, for the mining development of our country and has to do with the completion of the Tocoma Hydroelectric Power Plant (...) there we are expected to recover 432 MW,” he said.

In this regard, he explained that each of the two planned turbines will have a generation capacity of 216 MW.

Rodríguez reaffirmed that these works are part of efforts to recover the National Electric System (SEN). In turn, he pointed out that both projects represent an investment of more than 300 million dollars by the Venezuelan State.
