President Putin: BRICS plans to create an independent payment system

This Friday, during the plenary session of the XXVII International Economic Forum (SPIEF-2024), in St. Petersburg, the President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, stated that the member countries of the BRICS block plan to create their own payment system.

“The BRICS is working for an independent payment system free from political pressure, abuse and external sanctions,” said the head of state.

Putin highlighted that with the addition of new members, the organization's share of global GDP (Gross Domestic Product) has increased to 36% and the potential to welcome new members remains high, according to Hispantv.

“We will continue to develop relations within the BRICS not only in the economic and financial spheres, but also in the areas of security and humanitarian cooperation, among others,” said the President of Russia,
