President of the Supreme Court highlighted the organization's support in the defense of Guiana Essequiba

This Wednesday, January 31, the president of the Supreme Court of Justice (TSJ), Caryslia Rodríguez, highlighted the agency's role in supporting the defense of Guiana Esequib, referring to the ruling of amparo to the Consultative Referendum of December 03, 2023.

In this regard, he recalled that the Constitutional Chamber, through decision No. 1,470, “declared the constitutional amparo action filed by the President and other Board of Directors to the National Assembly (AN) appropriate”.

He stressed that this action was carried out in “categorical support for the right of Venezuelans to choose and protect with their vote the inalienable rights over Guiana Essequiba.”

He also indicated that for this reason the Supreme Court participated in the Assembly of the National Governing Council in defense of the Essequibo, where different proposals submitted by representatives of indigenous peoples were received. In addition, he noted that he was also present at the installation of the National High Commission for the Defense of the Essequibo.

For this reason, he specified that the Supreme Court issued resolutions 41 and 43, which put into operation the criminal judicial circuit and the protection of children and adolescents of the judicial district of the state of Bolívar, Tumermo extension, of the Sifontes municipality, with full competence in the territory of Guiana Esequiba.
