President of the INTT: Reform of the Land Transportation Act will focus on comprehensive prevention

The reform of the Land Transportation Act that is under development will focus on comprehensive prevention for life and peace, said the president of the National Institute of Land Transportation (INTT), G/D Gabriel Aguana Rodríguez.

“With this renewal, we are going to respond in this area, to the situations that are being presented in these new times, focusing reform on prevention as established by public policy, Great Mission Quadrants of Peace,” he said during an interview with a private television channel.

In the same way, as reported by the Ministry of Interior, Justice and Peace through a press release, Aguana Rodríguez highlighted the results obtained from the different preventive plans that are implemented in road safety throughout the country, to prevent the occurrence of accidents on roads and highways.

He also highlighted the 45% decrease in traffic accidents; as well as a reduction in the percentage of people killed by 50%. “The main causes of traffic accidents are the consumption of alcoholic beverages, distractions while driving, such as using a cell phone; and sudden channel changes,” he said.
