The President of Nicaragua, Daniel Ortega, assured that “the Peoples want peace”, this Monday, during an extraordinary working meeting of heads of state and government of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).

“We demand the right of migrants, victims of colonial and imperial aggression,” said Ortega and asserted that “do not forget those who are governing the United States who had no idea that these lands existed, and they came out as migrants and arrived in territory that was not theirs, they simply occupied it by force, murdering their own owners, the indigenous peoples.”

The president warned that “former President Obama expelled thousands of migrants. They are simply the same,” and he reiterated that imperialism cannot be trusted. “How do we face that reality? We cannot face it with weapons, but we have a more powerful weapon, the conscience and dignity of our peoples,” he warned.

“We agree with the expansion of ALBA-TCP programs, agricultural cooperation, food production with the AGROALBA project, advances in the use and development of artificial intelligence within ALBA countries,” he stressed.
