The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reiterated the Bolivarian Government's solidarity with Chile on the occasion of the strong forest fires that have occurred in the city of Viña del Mar, located in the region of Valparaíso.

“We have informed the Chilean Foreign Ministry of the immediate willingness of the Simon Bolivar Task Force to go to Chile in a modest manner to provide all the necessary support,” he said.

He considered that global technical expertise was necessary to support the People of Chile. “Our permanent solidarity for Chile is a sister people and we are ready and willing to provide all our support,” he reiterated in the program “With Maduro+”, a special edition dedicated to the youth of Venezuela.

Regarding these forest fires, he stated that they are the consequences of climate change affecting the world, in addition to high temperatures and extreme drought.

The President of Chile, Gabriel Boric, declared this Saturday, February 3rd, a state of emergency due to forest fires, which has already left more than 170 dead and more than 1,000 homes affected.
