President Nicolás Maduro confirms his solidarity with Honduras in the face of an attempted coup

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Monday, September 2, expressed his absolute solidarity with the People of Honduras and with President Xiomara Castro, in the face of the recent coup attempt.

“The response given yesterday, Sunday, by the popular forces of Honduras, is extraordinary, really,” he said.

In this regard, the head of state stated that “on behalf of the Venezuelan people, of the Bolivarian and revolutionary Government and of all the popular forces of our country, we give all the support, support and solidarity to President Xiomara Castro and to the popular forces of Honduras.”

She recalled that Castro is president of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), “this coup d'etat that she denounces is against the Government of the progressive and revolutionary forces of Honduras, it is also against CELAC.”

“Because there is an objective that I have been denouncing, an objective of the gringos, which is to destroy CELAC, to divide all of Latin America and the Caribbean, and to leave us without the instrument we have of independence and union, which is CELAC,” he confirmed from the Miraflores Palace, in his program Con Maduro+, in his 55th broadcast.
