During a meeting with the Bolivarian National Militia, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, made a call this Tuesday to strengthen the Communal Parliament, to continue making progress in the construction of popular self-government.

In this sense, from the Miraflores Palace, he indicated that when we talk about Public Powers, we not only talk about the powerful institutions they should be, but it is also about the construction of those powers from the ground up.

“We are talking about building them on the bases, self-government, communal councils, communes,” she said, noting that, for example, with the Judiciary, progress is already being made with the election of Judges and Justices of the Peace.

He specified that the Moral Power “must be rescued and relaunched, the power of the Social Comptroller of the People who stick their eyes, who stick the magnifying glass, who tells the truth (...) We must build all the Powers, the economic power of the People, empower them in every way and strengthen the capacity of grassroots leadership and that this country will have a more advanced democracy in the hands of People and not elites,” he added.

He reaffirmed that only in this way will “the threats of fascism, of surnames and of all its national and international accomplices ” disappear.
