During the launch ceremony of the Great Movement of Women's Movements “Josefa Joaquina Sánchez”, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, this Thursday, April 11, recalled the coup d'etat of 2002, which tried to overthrow Commander Hugo Chávez and the Bolivarian Revolution .

“We are remembering the 22 years of the fascist coup d'etat, which imperialism prepared against Commander Chávez, full of crime, horrific, of violence, manipulation, lies,” he emphasized.

He stated that it was the first media coup d'etat in history, “directed from television stations, by then dominant and hegemonic”.

“There they and they, a nest of vipers from the right, from the opposition, who 22 years ago tried to give us a coup d'etat and put an end to the Constitution and democracy,” he said.
