This Friday, March 14, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed that relations of cooperation and friendship between Russia and Venezuela have been strengthened and have entered a phase of maturity.

“Relations have been improving, I could say that we have entered a stage of maturity in relations between Russia and Venezuela. And we have the political confidence and the strategic coincidence in the vision of the world. And we have the practical demonstration that another world is possible, that a type of relationship based on equality and respect is possible,” he said during a video call with his Russian counterpart, Vladimir Putin.

In that regard, he emphasized that Russia and Venezuela agree in the construction of a multipolar world, based on equality and respect for peoples. “The world of respect, equality and cooperation are the essence of working between countries, between governments,” he said.

The Head of State also praised that Commander Hugo Chávez and President Putin began a great era in the 21st century in the relationship of friendship and cooperation between the two nations.

At the same time, he emphasized that Generalissimo Francisco De Miranda, hero of our independence cause, who was remembered by President Vladimir Putin, “left an indelible mark on that historic process of rapprochement between Venezuela and the People of Russia (...), also takes up the page of the history of how great Russia was, which recognizes the independence won by Simon Bolivar's Liberation Army; these are milestones foundational keys of principle”.

For this reason, the national president conveyed an embrace to his counterpart and to the Russian people for their solidarity and always support for the Fatherland of Bolivar and Chávez.
