President Maduro: We have always recognized the results in elections

Regarding the elections of July 28, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, reaffirmed this Tuesday that the Bolivarian Revolution has always recognized the electoral results, unlike some sectors of the Venezuelan right.

“This is the 31st election, out of 30 previous elections that have been held at the national level, we have won with the 28th popular vote, it is the only force there is and we have won them hard, and when we have lost an election or a mayor's office, we are not singing fraud or crying,” he said during a meeting with leaders of the independent opposition from the Miraflores Palace.

In that regard, he recalled that when the parliamentary elections of 2015, the Revolution recognized the results and the first thing it did was call for peace, understanding and dialogue.

He stressed that the same extreme right that, now expects to shout fraud again, at that time what they did was to destabilize the country and ask for sanctions.

At the same time, the National President questioned that those leaders of surnames such as Borges, Capriles, López and Machado believe they are the owners of the opposition vote. “They don't consult anyone, they just listen to the north and they have an ego that's too big and they think they're the predestined last names to be the head of this country,” he said.
