In order to achieve self-sufficiency in animal feed and other items, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Madur, announced the implementation of a plan to increase soybean planting by 30,000 hectares.

During the broadcast of the Digital Zone segment, of the program “With Maduro+”, where he analyzed national news in economic matters, he said that “I ask for support from the agricultural portfolio to advance soy production and be self-sufficient, as we have already started to be in corn, rice and other sectors”.

The head of state highlighted the increase in this category in four states of the country: Portuguesa, Guárico, Cojedes and Yaracuy.

He also expressed to the productive community the importance of their support and to the authorities of the Ministry of People's Power for Productive Agriculture and Lands, greater organization and discipline, so that the proposed goals could be met.

He also reported that from March 19 to 23, in La Carlota, Caracas, the National Agricultural Expoferia will be held, which is a great showcase for strengthening exports and improving animal genetics.

For his part, the Minister of Productive Agriculture and Lands, Julio Leon Heredia, assured that Venezuela is among the best three countries on the continent in terms of livestock.

He stated that Venezuela has the capacity to export anywhere in the world, thanks to the economic development plan promoted by the Head of State.
