The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela,
Nicolás Maduro, during the Extraordinary Virtual Summit of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean
States (CELAC), confirmed his position of supporting
Mexico in its lawsuit before the International Court of Justice (ICJ).
“We trust in Mexico, in Mexico's historic attitude, that in
favor of the right to peace it can count on Venezuela to fight these battles, which are battles of humanity depending on the future,” said President Maduro.
In addition, he urged the ICJ to deal with
this case and other cases such as the genocide that occurs in Gaza.
“There you have the International Court of Justice, questioned, which has already been left naked in the face of the genocide in Gaza, there they have an opportunity to restore their
morality and to re-establish legality,” he stressed.
