The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, this Wednesday urged the National Assembly, headed by Deputy Jorge Rodríguez, to reform the Code of Civil Procedure for the security of economic activity in the country, as one of the main challenges.

During his participation in the Solemn Opening Session of the Judicial Year 2024, the head of state stressed the need for this action so that the instrument “establishes a single, oral and expedited procedure, as mandated by the Constitution of 1999. The time has come, we must do it!” , he emphasized.

He pointed out that “the relevance of this lies in guaranteeing a framework of security and legal certainty for the country's economic activity, for investment, that those who come to invest have the certainty and confidence of resolving their conflicts in an expeditious and fair manner.”

He reported that “a commercial jurisdiction that deals exclusively with large businesses and transactions that must take place in the country and that are arriving for billions of dollars in the Center for Productive Investments of Venezuela, investment offers from the New World” has been proposed.
