President Maduro: United, we are making progress in the development of science and technology

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that today, the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP), the union is beginning to be woven to advance the development of science and technology.

“Right now, in the midst of the development of science, technology and knowledge, we are ready to integrate into that world and develop our capacities; today we can say it from ALBA and if we do it together, even more so,” he said from the 25th Meeting of the ALBA-TCP Political Council.

In this regard, he emphasized the importance of scientific institutions in the countries of the bloc working together to develop areas that have to do with microbiology and biotechnology.

“Unity is the fusion of all our strength, in this case the strength of knowledge, culture, education and their expression of science in innovation and technology; the union is being built like someone who weaves a network and is truly establishing the multidimensional bases of all aspects of the development of society in this 21st century,” he said.

In addition, he highlighted how important it is “the creation of the bank of scientific projects with the great capacity that Cuba has, which is at the forefront of the world, and the capacity that has been developed with the Great Humberto Fernández Morán Science and Technology Mission that we founded.” In turn, he added that the issue of the development of telemedicine has been making positive progress in the countries of the bloc.
