The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that the Plan of the 7 Transformations (7T), prepared after consultation in a national debate and with more than 500 thousand basic proposals, belongs to the country's students.
He stated that “we must also add everything that you discussed at the Congress of Secondary and University Education”.
“I am satisfied and committed to each of the proposals they have made,” he said.
In this regard, he pointed out that the objective is “so that we have a student plan and that you have, from now on, the vision of the country to be built in the face of the birth of the new multipolar world”.
The approach was made during his meeting with student youth in the Bicentennial Square of the Miraflores Palace, to celebrate the closing of the congresses of the Venezuelan Federation of University Students (FVEU) and the Venezuelan Federation of Middle Education Students (FEVEEM).
The head of state recalled that in no country in the world does a President invite students to the debate about the future of his own country, “in which country are laws passed to empower the grass-roots student movement”.
He stressed that the fascist extreme right promises to privatize all education, assault power and deliver education as a business, denying millions of children and young people their right to be trained as a useful person for their country.
“What we have, we have built conscientiously and hard. We have to take care of it, moving forward every day, improving ourselves,” he said.
He mentioned that Simón Bolívar, Higo Chávez, Simón Rodríguez and other great heroes “have left us a powerful legacy that has to be integrated with the generations of the future, because among you are the new Bolívar, Chávez, the new Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi”.
