President Maduro to Olympic athletes: You defend the most sacred colors in America

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, urged the country's athletes who will participate in the Paris 2024 Olympic Games to maintain balance and strength at every step in this international competition.

“In the face of adversity, balance and hard work and dedication (...) the mental enemy is triumphalism, we have to fight for the medal,” said the head of state during the Standardization of the Venezuelan Olympic Delegation.

He also expressed the importance of identity for the history of the country: “You defend the most sacred colors that exist in all of America.”

He stressed that Venezuelan athletes represent one of the countries that have one of the most beautiful stories in the world.

“Be proud to be Venezuelans and Venezuelans. I expect them here with their medals very soon,” he emphasized.
