The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held his counterpart from El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, responsible for the lives of Venezuelan migrants kidnapped in a maximum-security prison in the Central American country.
“President of El Salvador, Nayib Bukele, we tell you: If it happens to any of those boys, you are responsible for the lives of all those boys, for all those young people. You guarantee their health and, sooner rather than later, you have to hand them over and release them because they are kidnapped,” stressed the Head of State.
During the farewell ceremony of the Simon Bolivar School Ship to the XXXV Caribbean Alliance 2025 Foreign Education Cruise, President Maduro reiterated that this group of migrants has not committed any crime in El Salvador or in the United States.
“If someone commits a crime, they must be tried by their natural judges. You must have the right to defense, the right to due process and all your judicial, procedural and human rights and guarantees. Not here. Here they have been looking for them, kidnapped from their homes, boys who were already working there (in the United States), a hairdresser, several barbers, musicians, artists, workers who went in search of the American dream and almost achieved American slavery,” he criticized.
