This Monday, March 24, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that “they will be able to sanction and impose tariffs on whatever they want, what they cannot sanction is the love and patriotism of the Venezuelan people, the working class, the businessmen, the peasants, the women.”

He said this when referring to the sanctions and the recent announcement of tariffs against the country, as pressure exerted by the US government, as well as to the firm stance of the Venezuelan people. “They can never sanction the soul of a people that defeated an empire that had 300 years here, nailing its claws,” he said.

This was stated in the state of Bolívar, where Expo Metal 2025 closed and activated the fourth Engine dedicated to the Mining and Basic Industries sector of the Development Plan for the 13 Productive Engines.

In this context, the head of state welcomed the participation of businessmen from more than 30 countries and announced that “we will sign 8 investment documents in vital aspects to continue the process of productive expansion of Guyana's basic industries and comprehensive mining development.”

“With the support of the working class and the perfect articulation of private and public capital, we achieved the path to a self-sustainable economy, towards our own development,” he said.
