This Thursday, April 18, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stressed that the only thing the United States government complied with within the framework of the agreements signed with Venezuela, was “to issue license number 44 for oil and gas activities and they killed her 24 hours later.”

He stated that after 24 hours, “license 44 was useless, it became rubbish for the country. That's the truth.”

This was stated by the head of state, who maintained that “yesterday (Wednesday the 17th) the United States of America complied with its threat, with its blackmail it is all they know how to fulfill their lies, their blackmail”, referring to the intensification of sanctions by the administration of President Joe Biden.

In this regard, during a meeting he led with the Venezuelan Petroleum Workers (PDVSA), at its headquarters in La Campiña, the head of state, addressing President Biden, stated that “you are doing yourself double harm because Venezuela is going to follow its path and no one is going to stop us in economic stability, in economic growth, in the recovery of the welfare state, in the development of our country with its own efforts. No one is going to stop us.”

He also stressed that “we formally decided to make known to our people the truth of what was written and what was signed, because of the absolute non-compliance of the United States with the agreements written and signed by both parties.”

Venezuela as a Republic, as a Government and as a State fully fulfilled the commitments discussed, written and signed, because our word is a word of honor in Bolívar, in Chávez, who, to say in Antonio José de Sucre, we are the ones who keep the word, the commitment with the maximum will, because we are defending the people of Venezuela and their right to independence, to peace,” he emphasized.
