President Nicolas Maduro, during the notification of the Board of Directors of the National Assembly (AN) and the beginning of the 2025-2026 session, reiterated the commitment of the Bolivarian Government to the defense of the right to the legitimate constitutional defense of democracy.

In this regard, he specified that the “Government upholds its right to the legitimate constitutional defense of our democracy, of our institutionality of our Constitution and of our right to peace”, while “Venezuela is constitutionally and legally exercising all actions of legitimate internal and external defense; and I am sure that we will come out of this better than from all the previous battles we have had and we will have more peace”.

He also took the opportunity to highlight the work of the AN, which, according to the assessment of the national president, has a four-year balance sheet “with an extremely positive balance”.

In addition, he recalled the “ desperate efforts of some opposition sectors and the Empire to prevent the elections of the 2020 Assembly and we said: new thunder or lightning there will be elections in the National Assembly”.
