This Monday, June 24, the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced plans by the extremist right for a brutal electrical war against communities.

“Now they have concentrated on the last few weeks, with great force preparing an offensive against the electricity service to try to cause an event in the country that damages the climate of peace, tranquility and happiness that is characterizing the electoral process (...) Seeing themselves lost as they are, they are betting on hurting the country and the communities and, the first plan is, to attack the communities where Chavism won with 80 and 90% of the votes,” he denounced.

He specified that “several material perpetrators of these attacks on the electrical system against the people have been captured, arrested and prosecuted by the Public Prosecutor's Office.”

He took the opportunity to instruct the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB) to implement a plan for patrolling, surveillance and 24-hour protection of the electric service hand in hand with the organized Popular Power. For this reason, I appoint the minister of popular power for the Communes, Ángel Prado, for this action.
