This Wednesday, December 11, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, said that true democracy is currently being built in Venezuela, which “should not remain superficial, it cannot be an aerial democracy.”

For this reason, he emphasized that the most important political revolution currently in Latin America and the Caribbean, “is the communal revolution of direct democracy in Venezuela.”

“Not only should it be representative, it must be built as a mass democracy, popular, direct, based on values and conscience, on the direct participation of the People,” he said.

The approach was made during the community assembly that he led with the candidates for Communal Judges and Judges of the Peace, prior to the electoral process on December 15.

He pointed out that a superficial and empty democracy can only be built and governed by surnames, “that is a false and repressive democracy, if surnames return to power they will hand over the country's wealth to the North American empire.”
