The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, stated that the dream of Gran Colombia “is in force, which is the dream of union, in the end Simón Bolívar thought of a union of Republics, before the concept existed”.

“Long before, 100 years before Vladimir Ilich Ulianov, better known as Lenin, before he spoke of the union of Republics, Bolivar spoke here of the union of Republics. He spoke of a nation of republics,” he recalled.

In that scenario, he assured that “we have the absolute decision to unite with Colombia, to open borders, to open paths for integration and true union.”

Colombia is counting on us for peace and infinity,” he emphasized.

In his Con Maduro+ program, in the 65th edition, in the More Democracy segment, in which he welcomed the different representatives participating in the World Anti-Fascist Parliamentary Forum.

He specified that the idea proposed by Bolívar “is to constitute all the liberated countries, formerly colonies of Spain, in a nation of republics, that is why he speaks of all of us, who are Latin America and the Caribbean, now our America.”

Bolívar thought that we were all one nation, the peoples who woke up from colonialism and had to be a nation of republics,” he said.

The head of state emphasized that “one day we will find our way, whatever the right, the extreme right, whatever there is, the path and destiny of Latin America and the Caribbean, is traced over the centuries and centuries, to constitute a power block, united before the world of the 21st century”.

“The Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC) will one day be more than a community, it will be a union of Republics and the dream of our Liberators will come true,” he stressed.
