President Maduro signs framework agreement with ALBA and Petrocaribe countries on agriculture

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, during his participation in the activation of the Agricultural Engine, signed an agreement between the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of America - Peoples' Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP) and PETROCARIBE that will allow, in the objective of Commander Hugo Chávez, the joint and supportive development of agricultural projects.

“We have also signed the Agricultural Framework Agreement Act between ALBA, and the PETROCARIBE countries, to provide a national and international legal framework for the Alba del Sur Project,” said the president, who also formally handed over the La Vergareña agricultural land to the Brazilian Landless Movement.

“We signed the Decree that gives 180,321 hectares in La Vergareña, Bolívar state, to the Landless Movement of Brazil, to take over the leadership of this great project of the Great Patria of the South,” said the president during this working day.
