President Maduro: Shrimp sector growth is projected at 20% this year

This percentage of growth will place the country among the first in Latin America

The Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, announced that production in the shrimp sector is projected to grow by 20% by 2024.

During a working day this Wednesday, President Maduro spoke with the Minister of Popular Power for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, who explained that to date, “34 species have been reached and are currently in 28 export destinations in China, the Netherlands and France”.

He added that the shrimp sector is making progress in the cultivation of other species that have greater capacity to grow in safe waters, particularly in areas of the states of Falcón, Nueva Esparta and Sucre.
