This Friday, June 28, the President of the Republic Nicolás Maduro sent a message of solidarity, commitment and absolute brotherhood to the people of Honduras, 15 years after the coup against Manuel Zelaya.

The Head of State recalled Commander Hugo Chávez's solidarity with former President Zelaya, “there were presidential meetings, at the Organization of American States (OAS), at the United Nations (UN) and popular resistance in the streets.”

“For days, weeks, people were on the streets, I think this is the most exemplary and longest day of popular assistance known against a dictatorship in the history of Latin America and the Caribbean,” he said.

He also said that today (June 28) is a day to celebrate the resilience of the people of Honduras and Latin America.

“From Venezuela, we send all the solidarity and absolute commitment of the Bolivarian Revolution, of the people of Simón Bolívar and Hugo Chávez to the process of change of the Honduran people with President Xiomara Castro,” he added.

Maduro recalled that a coup d'etat was attempted in Bolivia a few days ago and the promoters, who want them to finance that, are undoubtedly the same as always, but the people took to the streets and President Luis Arce had a courageous attitude.”

“I congratulate the people of Bolivia because they defeated the Fascist Coup attempt in record time, no more coups in Latin America!” , he said.
