President Maduro regrets the physical departure of the “Gaita Canyon” Danelo Badell

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, mourned this Thursday the death of Zuliano singer Danelo Badell, known as the Gaita Canyon, for which he sent condolences to the interpreter's family and friends.

Through his Telegram channel, the Head of State recognized him as an “extraordinary singer, performer and poet from Zulia, who with his voice delighted the people of Venezuela 'A Life'”.

“I send my condolences and solidarity to his family, friends, pipers and followers, and we will continue to advance along the path of the Cultural and Musical Revolution in our country, as did you, 'Cañón', a powerful voice and emblem of Zulia. Your bagpipes will continue to be heard for generations. A lifetime of applause to you, Danelo!” , he said.

Badell died this Thursday morning in his native Maracaibo, Zulia state, at the age of 73, as confirmed on social networks by his daughter Daniela.

The renowned musician was born in 1950 and, after graduating from the Marabina School of Communications, he became a union leader and telecommunications technician, but it was the bagpipe that gave him public recognition, as he was part of groups such as: Lagomar, Tropicals of Success, Santanita, Gran Coquivacoa, Cardinals of Success, Pipers of Pillopo, VHG, Estrellas del 2000, Iluminación Gaitera, Universidad de la Gaita, among others.

His successes include: La Negra cocoa-coa, La Piñata, Fiesta Decembrina, Los Remedios, Because I Love You, I Prefer My Bagpipe, Fascinating Venezuela, Las Cosas Buenas, and others.
