This Tuesday, January 23, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, recognized the Venezuelan diplomat, Alex Saab and his wife Camilla Fabri, for their resistance to the illegal measures of North American imperialism.

“Tortured in the prisons of the empire for three and a half years (...) he endured the most brutal tortures and his only crime was to overcome the criminal blockade of surnames, bring medicines, vaccines against Covid-19, CLAP boxes, bring gasoline,” said the national president at the Long March of January 23 in Caracas.

He also stressed that the empire pressured the diplomat to stop aid to Venezuela, just as they tried to force him to be a false witness to brutal lies against the Fatherland.

He pointed out that his wife from the first day of the kidnapping also “took a step forward and began to build a powerful national and international movement, the Free Alex Saab movement (...) I want to congratulate Camilla once again for her love and for her loyalty.”

In the same way, he also emphasized from the outset, the Revolutionary Forces did not hesitate to fight for the freedom of the diplomat.
