President Maduro recognized the diplomat Alex Saab

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, recognized the diplomat Alex Saab and his wife Camila Fabri.

“You don't know the joy it gives me in my heart to have a man like Alex Saab Morán and his wife Camila Fabri, a tribute to you here in front of the country,” said the National Executive during his Annual Message to the Nation.

In that regard, he stressed that Alex Saab was tortured and almost killed in the prisons of Cape Verde and the United States.

“He had the confidence that while he was resisting (...) we were also during the years 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023 enduring the torture of sanctions, of the fall in income, enduring the tortures that the body of the Republic endured, but that we were resisting like him, that we were coming out victorious ahead and that gave him moral strength and his heroic behavior gave us the strength not to abandon him,” he said.

He made this recognition by recalling everything Venezuela had to do to overcome the economic blockade and for food and medicine to reach the people.
