The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, inaugurated the Rio Claro Collection and Adduction System to guarantee a supply of water to more than 32,000 inhabitants of the Cocorote municipality, in the state of Yaracuy.

Corresponding to the second phase of construction, the Rio Claro System is composed of a dam with a capacity of 120 liters per second, a desander (sand retainer) and adduction of approximately 3,600 linear meters of 4-inch pipes (six lines of 600 meters each), which facilitates the conduction of water to the Cocorote Water Treatment Plant.

In this regard, the dam includes a central discharge pipe that not only allows the average consumption of the source, but also alleviates the flood, thus avoiding undermining the slopes.

As part of Plan 70 Works, Rio Claro will contribute to the continuity of drinking water service with a flow of 100 liters per second during the rainy season.
