The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that Venezuela will remain in peace and stability, referring to recent events in Syria.

“Make no mistake because the People of Venezuela, in a perfect popular-military-police fusion, will triumph on the path of peace,” he said at the civic-military event on the occasion of the Unveiling of the Memorial to the Bicentennial of the Battle of Ayacucho, held on Paseo Los Próceres, a monument located in the vicinity of Fort Tiuna.

He argued that “in Venezuela there will be peace, stability, national union and the Constitution will prevail.”

“We are watching the development of painful circumstances for the people of Syria. Now the nuts and bolts of fascist extremism are coming out to demand that Venezuela also arm itself with a civil war,” he said.

The head of state mentioned the wars promoted by the US empire in Iraq, Libya, Ukraine and recently in Syria, before which he argued that “neither war yesterday nor civil war today, no, no, no, no, we are the children of Ayacucho, of the Sun”.

“If Ayacucho was the Waterloo of the Spanish empire in America, if imperialist lords, fascist gentlemen and ladies dared, it would be the Waterloo of all conspiracies and they would regret it for 100 years, for having dared to touch the sacred peace and stability and unity of our beloved Venezuela,” he said.

He asserted that “the empire and the fascist right have run out of the Manual of Conspiracies. They have applied everything in our country.”
