The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, highlighted this Wednesday the importance of the Rain Prevention Plan to avoid a catastrophe during rainfall caused by the passage of hurricane Beryl in Cumacoa, Sucre state.

“The rain plan that we have activated for prevention is active throughout the country (...) I can say that all preventive action saved a lot of lives, a lot of people, the lives of children, women, families were saved when the river flooded and the Firefighters moved, Civil Protection, everyone moved,” said the Head of State from the Presidential Command Post.

He said that “the first thing was to save the people, take care of them, protect them, safe haven, the second thing was to enter and we entered with political force, with Civil Protection, with the machinery, we arrived early yesterday to attend and today it has become more normalized”.
